Korea 2010 Spring Festivals (March ~ May)

Waaaahh udah Maret aja ni, nandain kalo musim dingin udah lewat dan musim semi telah tiba. Yaaaayy! Welcome Spring. Spring yang cantik dan penuh dengan bunga-bunga. Be careful also for you who has pollen allergy, hiihi. I am always happy to welcome spring season. Hari baru semangat baru! Ohiya, FYI, besok gw akan masuk hari pertama kuliah di semester ke-5. Hehe. Udah tahun ke-3 gw kuliah ni sekarang. Kemaren tanggal 26 Februari, pas banget udah 3 tahun gw tinggal di negeri kimchi ini. Ga kerasa ya.. 2 tahun lagi berati, wish me luck guys! :) Semoga semuanya lancar-lancar aja sampai selesai. Amiin...

Oh ya, ngomong-ngomong spring season, di Korea banyak banget loh festivalnya. Jadi buat kamu yang punya rencana jalan-jalan ke Korea, ini salah satu waktu yang tepat lho! Selain banyak festival yang bisa kamu liat, kamu juga bisa liat bunga-bunga sakura yang cantik bermekaran. Ups, klo di Korea jangan bilang sakura ya karena sakura itu bahasa Jepang. Mereka lebih seneng klo kita bilangnya beotkkot. (Keliatan kurang cantik ya namanya? :D)

Selama spring ini, ada macem-macem festival di Korea, diantaranya Spring Flower Festival, Food Festival, Culture & arts festival, dan lain-lain. Tinggal pilih yang mana yang kamu suka, yang pasti semuanya oke!

Let's talk about the spring flower festival first.
Spring announces its arrival in Korea with a blanket of yellow and white blossoms spreading throughout the country. Cherry blossoms, apricot flowers, and cornus fruit trees start to bloom right from the beginning of March when the air is still slightly chilly. From mid March the warm season sees a host of festivals take place in Korea, here visitors can stroll amidst the glorious blossoming flowers and really see the country at its best. There are many spring flower festivals held all around the country, and the butterfly festival and bamboo festival are also popular springtime events in Korea.

Here are the Spring flower festival:
1. Gwangyang Maehwa (Apricot Blossom) Festival
Dates: March 13 ~ 21, 2010
Location: Maehwa Village, near to Gwangyang city, Jeollanam-do province.

2. Gurye Sansuyu (cornus fruit) Festival
Dates: March 18 ~21, 2010
Location: Jirisan Mountain hot spring district, Sandong-myeon, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do Province

3. Jinhae Gunhang (Naval Port) Festival
Dates: to be determined (I went there last year on April 4. Keren banget nih tempatnya karena merupakan tempat terluas dengan sakuranya. Serasa berada di bawah terowongan sakura. It was so beautiful...)
Location: Jinhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do province

4. Incheon Baeksa Sansuyu (cornus fruit) Blossom Festival
Dates: to be determined
Location: Dorip-ri Gyeongsa-ri, Songmal-ri, Baeksa-myeon region, Incheon city, Gyeonggi-do province.

5. Hwagae Marketplace Cherry Blossoms Festival
Dates: April 2 ~ 4, 2010
Location: Hwagae marketplace ~ Ssangyesa temple district in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do province.

6. Jeju King
Dates: March 26 ~ 28, 2010
Location: Sports complex district and downtown area of Jeju-si, Jeju island.
